Meet Dr. Mike Willis
Creating Change
Dr. Mike’s path to chiropractic is quite unique. In his previous career, he was a professional drummer. After sustaining injuries in Vietnam, he suffered pain and couldn’t feel the drumsticks in his hands. The band’s bass player suggested chiropractic care, which Dr. Mike had never even heard of—but he gave it a shot. With care, all feeling was restored in his hands. He continued his musical career for years, until he realized he no longer enjoyed the life of traveling.
That realization frightened him because the thing he loved about music was its ability to affect people—to literally save a person’s life at times—and he didn’t know what else he could do that would have that same profound impact. As he began to search for a new career path, everyone he ran into had something to do with chiropractic. Recognizing a higher power at work, he listened to those messages. He attended Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic in 1988. He met his wife Dr. Laura there, and together they opened their first practice in 1989.
Helping Patients Dream Big
After thirty-three years, Dr. Mike is still passionate about seeing the shift in patients’ personalities when they go from just surviving to thriving and dreaming of all the things they can do.
Our society is harder on the nervous system than ever before, leaving people stuck in a fight or flight mode that never ends. We are also more disconnected from both our external and internal environments than in generations past. All of this makes chiropractic care more important now than ever! At Thrive Chiropractic, we work with you to help you create the extraordinary life you want to live.
